Hieu is on his way to recovery

Hieu and his son are still getting used to their new life. Here, Hieu accepts support from PeaceTrees Vietnam, which will help cover his medical expenses.
Dear Dwayne and Terese,

Hieu is a 32 year-old fisherman. Hieu used to be the bread-winner of his family. He was fishing everyday to feed his old parents and one 6 year-old son.

His peaceful life changed completely on September 2, 2010. Hieu picked up a strange object from the sea while fishing which unfortunately exploded right on his boat. He lost one leg, one hand, and got many injuries on face and body. His ability to hear and see has also decreased.

Three months after accident, Hieu’s condition has improved. Unfortunately, the bread-winner became a burden on his family; Hieu couldn’t hide his sadness when talking with us.

Thanks to your support, PeaceTrees Vietnam has supported Hieu by paying for the immediate and some long-term medical expenses to take care of his wounds, as well as providing funds for food for him and his family.
