Loan’s father passed away tragically when he and another villager accidentally hit a weapon buried in the ground. Since then, Loan’s mother has struggled to keep her four kids in school.
With your help, Loan has received a scholarship package from PeaceTrees which provides her with the necessary school supplies, uniform, and tuition fees needed to attend school. She is grateful and enthusiastic about attending 7th grade.

Linh’s father was injured when a landmine accidentally exploded while he was cultivating the family’s garden. Since then, he has experienced difficulty working and supporting his family of four.

Four years ago, Huyen’s father was killed when a weapon accidentally exploded while he was scraping metal. Since then, his family has struggled economically, and Huyen’s mother has worked tirelessly as a farmer to feed the family and keep her three children in school.

A few years ago, Chien’s father was killed as a bomb went off while he was collecting scrap metal. Since then, Chien and his mom have faced many difficulties, and it has been hard for her to provide enough income as a female farmer. Her biggest hope is that Chien can continue going to school.

While taking care of his family’s buffalo (a task commonly done in Vietnam by the boys of the family), Trien accidentally stepped on a landmine and set it off. He permanently injured his left leg.

Xinh’s brother was fatally injured while cutting vegetation near their home. The family has still not recovered from their loss.

Nhat’s mother was injured by a landmine while she was clearing land for the family’s garden plot. Because of her injuries, she has had trouble supporting the family and was worried about her children completing their education.

Several years ago, Hau was on his way back from school when he picked up what he thought was a toy on the side of the road. Unfortunately, the object turned out to be a bombie – a small, round weapon left over from the war. The bombie exploded, and Hau was left with many injuries to his hands and legs.
Thanks to your generosity, he is able to continue his education by receiving a scholarship which includes all his tuition costs for 11th grade, books, supplies, and uniform.

On December 26, 2010, Hoa and another man were fatally wounded by a landmine explosion while working together in a field. Hoa’s family – his wife and two young children – are coping with their tragedy while trying to maintain other aspects of their life. Hoa was the bread-winner of the family, and his death will bring significant financial hardship to them.
Your support, however, has made it possible for PeaceTrees to offer immediate assistance and cover the cost of Hoa’s funeral. Additionally, the family will receive a cow to help alleviate some financial worry.
